It seems that Bill Nye (scientist) fundamentalist Christians in Texas has angered explains that the verse in Genesis is factually incorrect:
Genesis 1:16 says: "God made two great lights - the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night"
Bill noted that the moon is a mirror, not a manufacturer of light.

Unfortunately profundis Christians today enjoy one meets it makes feel uncomfortable that their religious prejudices. For them, science is a validation of the Bible and a study that disagrees with the literal Bible is a product of an atheist agenda.
Nye was there to lectures on science, not this or that invisible man in the sky. Might have a quotation from the Koran or the Bhagavad as received, but the public does not understand what he meant. Nye took place parallel to the religious complexity of our universe to illustrate to plant a seed of skepticism.
Too bad that some people choose to think like cavemen.

Viva Science Guy! As a Catholic Christian, about a researcher, * I'm too tired to read such posts as science is the tool of the devil, and scientists will burn in hell for their "lies" and so on. It is quite possible, an academic and a committed Christian, everything you need to do is recognize that you read more than one way, the Bible.
In Hebrew, is the light "and Maor me'orah" meaning

Mr. Nye has not found an error in the Bible. He just (like all science) is trying to understand our world. God created the world, including the sun and the moon, our understanding of how it is, is not the main concern of a Christian. The moon governs the night, right? The Bible does not say he is a producer of light, it has only to govern the night.

Ok, let me get this straight ... I come from Texas, yes, I am a Christian fundamentalist. But guess what? I am also a scientist with the same degree of small atmospheric research in physics. I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge of all sciences, not only of the time. We are not cavemen purely Bible thumpin. I bet my knowledge is much greater than the minimum skills. I have a genius IQ level. I believe that God created the light. There is nothing that is like the night itself, the darkness only the absence of light. And I have no respect for Nye, but if the sofa-liberal agenda of atheists in his car sublime knowledge of science, which is to fight a lost cause.
